I ran back to the police station and got the shot gun from the vent where I left it. I dropped it off in my apartment building. I left with the handgun, tranq gun, and combat rifle. I should have left the combat rifle, but I like it too much. Also, it seems like people drop a lot of ammo for it, so I thought it would be best to keep it.
I talked to the police officer posing as a prostitute and I think I chose the flirty option. I accepted the side quest since she mentioned going into Derelict Row, and I need to go there anyway for the main quest. Also, Detroit Police needs to be cleaned up, and I don't mind doing that. Plus, she is an old coworker, so you know I gotta help her out.
As a quick note on the police officer, her body type looks white. Seriously, the must have modeled her on a European woman, then just changed the skin tone to black. The voice actress sounds white too. The whole conversation with her was kinda strange.
I intended to go directly to Derelict Row, but I got confused and went the wrong way. I realized I was pretty close to where Ezekiel Sanders wanted to meet with me, so I went to see him. One of his bodyguards mentioned how he killed the hostages with some kind of biological bomb. I really wish I found a way to save the hostages! Anyway, Sanders gave me a pocket secretary with a email on it. It was kind cryptic and didn't really tell me much. But it's evidence of something, so I'm sure it will be useful to have later. I'm just gonna assume that as long as I have it and read it then the game will use it later in some way. I got some XP out of the deal, so it was worth the trip.
I head back to Derelict Row and sneaked in. I had some trouble getting around the first group of guards. I tranqed one guy and dragged his body away, but they still spotted me. Instead of shooting right away, they just yell for a while before walking over and shooting. Kinda funny really. I dropped into the sewer and navigated around there for a while. When I emerged, I eventually found the weapon stash that the dirty cop uses, and got the shipping info from one of the boxes. Also, I got some extra ammo and a few rockets. I need to find a rocket launcher soon!!!
Right before I got to the antenna that is transmitting the signal, there was about three or four bombs mounted on the wall. I tried to sneak by them, but they detonated. It alerted the guards, but I hid from them easily. I couldn't get around the last one, so I just shot it then hid. Not very difficult, but it was a surprise.
So Pritchard traces the signal to somewhere in Detroit and Malik flies me there. I was pretty happy to see Malik, she is a cool character. I see the guy that punched me out in the first attack and radio in that these are the mercenaries who attacked us six months ago.
I maneuver around the open area, and find a stun gun in a large truck. I never get a chance to use it, instead I knock people out or use the tranq gun. I work my way into a small office and pick up a bunch of info there. Also, the guards talk amongst themselves for a while and we learn that the suicide hacker was one of their men. Apparently he joined Purity Front three months ago and was on assignment by them.
I get up to a high spot and take out a sniper. I did it poorly and got the alarm triggered. No one went up high to get me so it was all good in the end. I couldn't take the sniper rifle because I didn't have enough room in my inventory. I didn't want to drop any of my weapons, so I had to leave it. Hopefully I can get another one sometime soon.
The base has FEMA logos, and Sarif was surprised at that since most of our work is for the government. Why would a government agency hire mercenaries to attack us? Gotta keep exploring...
I got deep into the base, but kept getting discovered and had to fight everyone. I'm playing on normal difficulty, but it's still a hard game! I might have to turn it down to easy mode :-(
